From experience, I had a hectic personal schedule and they catered to it. They are very flexible with schedules and they will work around your school schedule. I went home every weekend smelling like freezer burned fruit juice, therefore 10 or 11pm showers became - more.įirst I want to start off by saying, if you are looking for a first time job and/or a college student then this is the perfect job for you. There's only one person on the task of making the smoothies because the work space is cramped and becomes inefficient when there's too many people, but I could use the hectic pace to guilt some of the nicer managers (one sweetheart in particular) or my co-workers/friends to help me out. Peak hours had me aggressively trying to make smoothies faster than the pace of the receipt printer (which was always impossible, and never seemed to end) (god that sound will always haunt me). The weekends on the other hand were a nightmare. I found myself during after school shifts peeling straws, doing food prep, or hiding under the counter so I could use my phone. The latter were usually very chill, there was never really a need to have more than 6 employees in one shift. A regular day at work depended (at least for my location) on if it was a weekend or weekday. That/ is when they really need you to be a part of the team and take up a shift. Yeah, that wasn't the same attitude we were given when it was a Saturday night and only 5 employees were on shift. It seems like they constantly need more employees as they hire new people pretty quickly, and the part timers come and go.Īs I was once told by one of the managers: we are all replaceable, so we could quit as we pleased. A couple other of my close friends were working there and recommended that I apply.

It was my first job, as I am still in high school. I only worked at Beyond for a couple months last year.
